Calling all budding chefs! Now in its thirteenth year, the urban element is once again thrilled for the opportunity to inspire young chefs and help them gain more confidence in the kitchen with our summer culinary camp. Over the course of the week, mini chefs will practice essential kitchen skills and learn the fundamentals from our chefs, such as rules for handling knives and other equipment, ingredient selection, how to read and follow recipes, measuring, and the importance of kitchen and food safety. The camp includes all meals (breakfast, lunch, snacks), beverages, instruction and a personalized cookbook with all recipes that were prepared during the camp! We will take breaks from the kitchen to select fresh ingredients from the neighbourhood farmer’s market and explore the culinary diversity of our neighborhood. Our camp begins at 9 am and finishes at 4 pm (extended care is available if required).
