August 11: Summertime Vegetarian Indian

While many people are familiar with Indian curries – slow simmered, rich, flavourful and complex – Indian food can also be light, bright and simple.  Tonight’s menu features just these kinds of dishes, with seasonal ingredients and fresh, accessible ingredients.  Our flavour-packed vegetarian menu features tamarind-glazed paneer kebabs with tomato-fennel chutney, and kachamber (tomato-cucumber salad), which we’ll serve with Chef Tara’s chickpea “polenta.”  For starters, guests will enjoy Chef Tara’s stuffed sweet potato fritters with onion chutney.  We’ll end the evening with an Urban Element dessert fitting for our summertime Indian menu. Dietary considerations: this vegetarian menu contains dairy.  The dessert may contain gluten, dairy and egg.
