Won ton soup is a classic Chinese restaurant treat, but it’s not usually vegetarian-friendly. Tonight we’ll reinvent wonton soup for vegetarians: we’ll take the basic techniques for stocks and dumplings to create a flavourful, filling vegetarian won ton soup that we’ll pair with a simple stir-fry. Chef Tara will serve a starter of dan dan noodles with tempeh. The class will then make a vegetarian won ton soup, with tofu-mushroom won tons and mushroom stock; and stir-fried eggplant which we’ll serve with rice. Dessert will feature sesame-sweet bean balls from our favourite neighbourhood Asian pastry shop. This vegetarian menu contains soy, gluten and egg.
