May 5, 5pm – 7:30 pm @ Corner Peach kitchen
Tonight’s class will take full advantage of our location in the heart of Ottawa’s Chinatown, to bring you to some familiar and less-familiar Asian ingredients – like banana leaves, long beans, a variety of warming spices and curry paste. Guests will start the evening with crispy pork dumplings served with a sweet chili dipping sauce. We’ll then go into the kitchen to prepare Massaman curried salmon steamed in banana leaves (we’ll make our own curry paste), and stir-fried long beans with preserved radish and peanuts. We’ll serve dinner with chef’s coconut jasmine rice and end the evening with an urban element dessert inspired by the evening’s theme. Dietary considerations: There is pork, shellfish (shrimp paste), gluten, soy and nuts in the menu. The dessert may contain eggs and dairy.
