Ottawa may be in the depth of winter, but tonight’s urban element cooking class menu will bring the bright, warming flavours of the Middle East & Mediterranean to beat the doldrums!  Think: feta cheese, citrus, and dates.  Guests tonight will make a fennel, orange and feta salad, a lamb kofta and date stew along with an orzo polow (rice and pasta).  Chef Tara will serve her avgolemono soup, featuring omani limes, as a starter.  Dessert, prepared by the urban element kitchen, will feature some of the flavours and inspirations of tonight’s menu.  Dietary considerations: the menu contains egg, gluten, dairy; dessert may contain these ingredients and nuts.
